Manipur News : Incidents of violence have been coming to the fore in Manipur for the last one and a quarter years. After a pause of a few days, the violence has flared up again. Extremists set fire to six houses in a village in Imphal West district of Manipur. After which there was heavy firing between security forces and extremists. As the situation is going out of control, the state DGP has sought the help of more central forces.
Manipur Police claimed that the militants used rocket-propelled grenades and drones for the attack. The government has now ordered the police to conduct a massive search operation in the Imphal area. Meanwhile, the state DGP has said that only police system is not enough to control the situation in the state. Central forces will also be required for this. Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh said that the police will make every effort to control the situation in the state but central forces will be required. Now the extremists are also using drones. We have also spoken to the NSG. Also, a committee has been formed to stop drone attacks. At the same time, the Chief Minister of Manipur termed the drone attack as a terrorist act. Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweeted that dropping bombs on civilians with drones is an act of terrorism.
At the same time, Manipur BJP MLA Rajkumar Emo Singh said that despite the deployment of about 60,000 paramilitary forces in Manipur, peace is not being established. Therefore, the central government should call back these forces from the state. The MLA also wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in this regard. In which he asked the state security forces and police to handle the situation. Meanwhile, Congress MP A Bimol Akoijam said that even though Manipur has been in a state of violence for so many months, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still avoiding visiting Manipur. This shows how serious the central government is about Manipur. Citing the incident of stripping two women in Manipur, the Congress MP said that this is actually an incident like the stripping of Dwaupadi in Mahabharata, which people are laughing at. This is really an insult to Manipur.
