Gujarat Rains: Another round of rain has started in Gujarat from yesterday. With 4 rain systems active simultaneously in the state, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in parts of South and Central Gujarat for the next 7 days. As a result, rainy weather was witnessed in 191 talukas of the state today.
Between 6 am and 8 pm today, Valia in Bharuch district received the highest rainfall of 156 mm (6.14 inches), while Netrang in the district received 127 mm (5 inches). Apart from this, Umarpada in Surat received 105 mm (4.13 inches), Valsad received 104 mm (4.09 inches), Jotana in Mehsana received 95 mm (3.74 inches), Rapar in Kutch received 65 mm (2.56 inches), Disa in Banaskantha received 43 mm (1.69 inches), Lakhani and Halvad in Morbi received 36 mm (1.42 inches) of rain and 43 mm (1.69 inches) rain was recorded in the taluk.
Whereas during the two-hour period from 6 pm to 8 pm, 19 talukas of the state received rain. In which 17 mm rain was recorded in Mahuva of Bhavnagar, 15 mm in Jessore, 13 mm in Mundra of Kutch, 11 mm in Khambhalia of Devbhoomi Dwarka and 10 mm in Talaja of Bhavnagar.
Thus, 34 talukas of the state received more than 1 inch of rainfall, 14 talukas received more than 2 inches, 7 talukas received more than 3 inches, 4 talukas received more than 4 inches and 2 talukas received more than 5 inches of rainfall.

● Due to rain in Mehsana today, the railway underpass between Bahucharaji-Harij got flooded. A school bus got stuck in it. However, the students were saved as the school bus was empty at that time.
● Rainwater overflowed in Eveli Vij village, Taluka Panchayat, Kadi Taluka, Mehsana district.
● Due to heavy rains, the Tokri river on the road connecting Valia-Mangrol in Bharuch district overflowed. Meanwhile, a truck passing near my village got pulled into the fast flowing water and overturned.
