Gwalior, September 3 (HS). PM Vishwakarma Yojana will prove to be a game changer in realizing the dreams of small skilled craftsmen and Vishwakarma people. Vishwakarma Yojana will play a big role in strengthening skilled artisans at small levels to bring an economically strong India on the world stage.
Collector Ruchika Chauhan expressed this view while addressing the inaugural function of the three-day “Vishwakarma Exhibition cum Trade Fair” being organized by the MSME Department of the Central and State Government at the Chamber of Commerce Bhawan premises here on Tuesday evening. She said that when small craftsmen and artisans go out of their area to sell and display their products, not only their products get a market but their confidence also increases. PM Vishwakarma Yojana has given a big support to skilled craftsmen.
In the three-day “Vishwakarma Exhibition cum Trade Fair”, more than 50 craftsmen and Vishwakarmas from various districts of the state including Gwalior have brought products made with their skills and expertise. Sculptors, carpenters, garland makers, tailors, tool makers, goldsmiths, potters and other skilled craftsmen displayed their products in the exhibition. Vishwakarma cum Trade Fair will be open for general public for viewing and purchase from 12 noon to 6 pm.
Madhya Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Praveen Agarwal said in the inaugural session that Vishwakarma is considered to be the greatest architect of the universe. It is a matter of happiness that the Government of India has shown sensitivity and implemented a welfare scheme like Vishwakarma for the small but skilled artisans of the society.
Rajeev S, Joint Director of MSME Development Office Indore, said that under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, registration of small craftsmen, providing tool kits and providing loans at concessional rates after training is done. Along with this, efforts are also made to provide them market.
The program was conducted by Assistant Director MSME Mr. Nilesh Trivedi. On this occasion, General Manager District Industries Center Gwalior KS Solanki informed that more than one lakh 34 thousand Vishwakarmas have been registered under PM Vishwakarma Yojana in Gwalior district.
