Jaipur, 3 September (HS). Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur was felicitated by the citizens at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur on his first visit to Rajasthan after becoming the Governor. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, BJP State President Madan Rathore, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, RSS Area Sangh Sanchalak Dr. Ramesh Chandra Agarwal, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Dr. Premchand Bairwa along with senior leaders of BJP, political field and various societies, political workers and eminent citizens of the city were present at the program. Officials of various societies and social organizations of the state felicitated Governor Om Prakash Mathur.
On this occasion, Governor Om Prakash Mathur said that the top leadership of BJP has entrusted me with the important responsibility of the Governor of Sikkim. I express my gratitude to them for this. I am a public servant, I have always been in their midst, I have told the people there that the doors of the Governor's residence are always open for you people.
Governor Om Prakash Mathur said that today old memories were refreshed in this civic felicitation program. My entire horoscope was opened here, various incidents of my life were recalled. This program is a program of immense affection from my loved ones.
Mathur said that the Sangh supported me completely. I set up the Kisan Sangh while living in a garage. After that, I organized a big movement in 1984. I organized a rally of 128 tractors. The law was changed due to that movement. After that movement, my friendship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi grew.
After that Sohan Singh and Laxman Singh called me to Bharti Bhawan and asked me to meet Bhairon Singh. In 1990, they told me to keep working in BJP. I was given three tickets on our request. After that, I won thirteen seats. During that time, I was appointed as the organisation minister in BJP. I worked as the organisation minister in BJP for 12 years.
Mathur said that the structure collapsed in 1992, 5 governments were toppled. Elections were held in 1993. Bhairon Singh lost the election from Ganganagar but won the election from Bali. Worked with a skilled organizer. At that time, BJP did not even have candidates on 80 seats. Visited Rajasthan thrice on a motorcycle. That era was different. Established BJP in the state.
Mathur said that after becoming the Governor of Sikkim, he visited Sikkim regularly and held meetings with everyone. Along with the soldiers, the citizens living on the border also protect the border. The remote villages are being developed. Sikkim has poor connectivity. The work of roads in Sikkim was also given to NHAI. We have to do the work, but there should be someone to work, there is a lot of work to be done.
While addressing the program, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur has left an indelible mark on BJP workers with his style of working. He has worked to take every BJP worker forward and strengthen them in politics by giving them work. I am fortunate that I got the opportunity to work with Om Ji Bhai Sahab, wherever he was in charge, he invited me. Your affection with BJP workers is not hidden from anyone. The work you have done throughout your life regarding culture and ideology, you have touched heights while working as a worker. He is an ideal for all of us.
BJP State President Madan Rathore while addressing the program said that we have been together for almost 50 years. Om Mathur was born in a small village and worked like a disciplined soldier with determination by working hard continuously. During the emergency, he came from Bali to Pali to fill the jail and protested vigorously. Due to which he was put in jail and was tortured a lot. He is a fearless, courageous and hardworking person. He has set an example in whatever responsibility the party gave him. His work will always be an inspiration for the workers.
While addressing the program, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said that Om Prakash Mathur is a leader connected with the workers of the state. Hot on the outside, soft on the inside, he made the impossible possible by making the lotus bloom in Chhattisgarh. It is the result of Om Ji Bhai Sahab's ability that he got such a big responsibility. It is a matter of pride for the whole of Rajasthan.
Addressing the civic felicitation programme, former MP Ramcharan Bohra said that Omji Bhaisahab is a skilled leader and a personality full of organisational capability. Everyone is an admirer of his fearless expression capability, his patient, serious and affectionate behaviour infuses energy in the workers.
Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ghanshyam Tiwari while addressing the program said that our relationship cannot be summed up in a few words. I got the opportunity to work with Om Ji continuously for 12 years. The memories of the work we did together are amazing. The highest honor for a struggling worker and warrior is to honour him with the post of Governor. Workers should take inspiration from the personality of Om Ji Mathur.
