Ranchi, September 3 (HS). An anti-ragging seminar, oath-taking and awareness rally program was organized on Tuesday under the joint aegis of Ranchi University's Postgraduate Department of Geology, Physics and Mathematics cum MCA Department's National Service Scheme unit and Anti-Ragging Squad under the chairmanship of Dr. CP Mahto, Head of the Department of Geology.

Chief guest of the program and University Technical Officer Dr. BK Sinha said that the ill-effects of ragging ruin the lives of many young and talented students. Any student is encouraged and forced to do such an act which makes one feel ashamed and such activities create hindrance in the academic life of junior students.

Special guest of the program, Ranchi University's National Service Scheme Program Coordinator Dr. Brajesh Kumar said that we all should take a pledge to eradicate inhuman behavior like ragging from its roots so that the human rights of all students can be protected. Ragging is such a problem, as a result of which the lives of students are endangered at a young age. It is necessary to end such inhuman behavior. Department Head of Geology Dr. CP Mahato, NSS Program Officer Dr. Arun Kumar Pandey, Dr. Chanchal Lakra jointly discussed the ill effects of ragging and explained in detail the ways to avoid it.

NSS program officer Dr Nazia Hasan gave the vote of thanks. The stage was conducted by volunteer Aastha Kumari.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Swagata Ghosh of the University's Master of Computer Applications Department, NSS team leaders Diwakar Anand, Purushottam, Rakesh also addressed the gathering.
