Indian Coast Guard Helicopter Missing: Indian Coast Guard helicopter crashes near Gujarat, crew members missing | News India

Indian Coast Guard helicopter missing: An Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) of the Indian Coast Guard made an emergency landing late night on Monday, September 2. The aircraft had four aircrew members on board. They were called in to evacuate a critically injured crew member from the Indian-flagged motor tanker, Hari Leela.

According to reports, the operation was launched following a request from the owner of the Hari Leela ship, which is around 45km off the Porbandar coast of Gujarat.

The helicopter, carrying four aircrew members, was approaching the tanker for medical treatment when it encountered difficulties and had to make an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea. The good news is that one crew member was successfully evacuated, but the search for the remaining three crew members is still on. The wreckage of the helicopter has been found.

The Indian Coast Guard has deployed four ships and two aircraft to assist in search and rescue operations. An ICG spokesperson said, “We are committed to ensuring the safety of our personnel and successful recovery of the remaining crew members.”
