Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu visits affected areas: Thousands of people evacuated to safer places: PM speaks to CMs of both states over phone
Hyderabad/Vijayawada: Disaster is raining from the sky in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Due to this rain, the total number of deaths in both the states has reached 31. Due to heavy rains in both the states, flood-like conditions have arisen, roads have been submerged and residential areas have been inundated. Railway and road traffic has been greatly affected in both the states due to waterlogging.
16 people have died in Telangana while 15 people have died in Andhra Pradesh. 4.5 lakh people have been affected in Andhra. The loss due to rain in Telangana is estimated to be Rs 5000 crore. The Chief Minister of Telangana has sought assistance of Rs 2,000 crore from the Center. He has announced to give Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased.
The rivers of both the states are flowing above the danger mark. In view of the situation, thousands of people have been moved to safer places. NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed in the flood affected areas.
Due to rain, more than 100 trains have been cancelled in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While the start of many trains had to be changed. Many railway tracks have been submerged in water due to rain.
Prime Minister Modi spoke to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the phone. The Prime Minister assured both the Chief Ministers of all possible help from the Center.

Officials have been asked to remain alert and directed to deliver relief materials to the flood-affected areas.
