Punjab Weather Update: Monsoon has once again become active in Punjab and Chandigarh. This time the monsoon is expected to remain active till September 5. Today, good rain is expected in 7 districts of Punjab including Chandigarh and normal rain in other districts. No warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department.
Recently, Mohali and Pathankot in Punjab received rain. Due to cloud cover in most of the districts, a slight drop in temperature was also observed. The maximum temperature in Punjab's Bathinda was recorded at 36.2 degrees on Monday evening.
According to the Meteorological Department, good rain is expected in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar today. Along with this, there is a possibility of getting relief from heat after rain in most areas.
There will be relief from scorching heat after September 15
According to Surinder Pal, Director of Chandigarh Meteorological Centre, Punjab is likely to receive around 20 per cent less rainfall during this monsoon. People of Punjab are likely to get relief from the scorching heat by the middle of this month. After September 15, the rain will reduce and the humidity will also decrease.
Talking about the month of September, the average temperature of Punjab remains between 25 to 37 degrees. Along with this, about 112 mm of rain has occurred in the state. Also, after the middle of the month, people will start getting relief from the heat.

Chandigarh- On Monday, the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 33 degrees. Today it will be partly cloudy, there is also a possibility of rain. The temperature is likely to remain between 26 to 34 degrees.
Mohali- The maximum temperature on Monday was recorded at 32.5 degrees. Today it will be partly cloudy, there is also a possibility of rain. The temperature is likely to remain between 26 to 34 degrees.
Amritsar- On Monday, the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 34.8 degrees. Today it will be partly cloudy, there is also a possibility of rain. The temperature is likely to remain between 28 to 35 degrees.
Jalandhar- Yesterday the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 34.2 degrees. Today it will be partly cloudy, there is also a possibility of rain. The temperature is likely to remain between 28 to 35 degrees.
Ludhiana- The maximum temperature on Monday was recorded at 33.1 degrees. Today it will be partly cloudy, there is also a possibility of rain. The temperature is likely to remain between 27 to 35 degrees.
Patiala- The temperature was recorded at 33 degrees on Monday evening. Today it will be partly cloudy, there is also a possibility of rain. The temperature is likely to remain between 27 to 35 degrees.
