Junior doctors also stood on the road against the stubborn police, raised slogans near Lal Bazar all night | News India

Kolkata, 03 September (HS). The protest of junior doctors demanding the resignation of Commissioner Vineet Goyal over the negligence of the police in the attack incident at RG Kar Medical College is not stopping. This protest, which started on Sunday afternoon, continued till Monday morning with sloganeering throughout the night. Junior doctors are adamant on their protest on one side of the nine feet high barricade installed by the police near Lalbazar, while police force is deployed on the other side. In this protest that has lasted for more than 12 hours, the junior doctors are demanding that the Police Commissioner (CP) resign.

Junior doctors say that their agitation will continue until the Police Commissioner resigns. Doctors have symbolically started 'Mission Lalbazar' towards Lalbazar with a rose flower and a picture of the police's backbone. Police have put up iron barricades to stop their protest, but doctors are protesting by sitting in front of the barricades. Hundreds of junior doctors on BB Ganguly Street kept shouting slogans against Kolkata Police and Vineet Goyal throughout the night. They have written many slogans on the streets in which police negligence and destruction of evidence have been mentioned. Dr. Kaushik, who is leading the doctors' agitation, said that the rally was allowed to go till the crossing of Bentinck Street and BB Ganguly Street. Our only demand is that we should be allowed to go till there. After that a delegation of doctors will go to Lal Bazar and submit a memorandum.
