Bhopal, 2 September (HS). Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput has said that the entire Bundelkhand resides in our heart. We feel proud to speak our Bundelkhandi language. Food Minister Rajput was addressing the program after prize distribution on the last day of Bundelkhandi Samagam in the Tribal Museum Auditorium of the capital Bhopal on Monday evening.
He said that Bundelkhandi language is being spoken not only in the state but also in the country and abroad. We get a new feeling in Bundelkhandi culture. Referring to an incident, Rajput said that during school and college days, classmates used to make fun of Bundelkhandi for speaking in Bundelkhandi language but now he feels proud to speak in Bundelkhandi. He said while quoting a proverb that one Bundelkhandi is equal to 100 Dandis.
Appreciating the efforts of Bundelkhandi Samagam organizer journalist Sachin Chaudhary, Minister Rajput said that such events are providing ample opportunities to the new generation to know and understand Bundelkhandi culture. Such events are greatly needed to save and revive the vanishing traditions of our Bundelkhand. This effort of Sachin is a big effort to promote and revive Bundelkhandi culture.
The new generation is unaware of many traditions
Referring to the various genres and heritage of Bundelkhand, Food Minister Rajput said that we have seen both the past and the present, but our new generation is unaware of many traditions and culture. Referring to marriage traditions, Rai dance, folk songs and other events, Rajput said that earlier family events had love and affection hidden in them. Rajput said that events like Bundeli Mahotsav are a well-thought-out effort to make the new generation aware of the heritage.
