According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), the inventory of cars with dealers in the country has reached around 7 lakhs. These are the cars that have not been sold. FADA says that this is a matter of concern for the world's third largest car market. Despite it being the festive season, people are buying fewer cars, due to which the inventory of dealers is increasing and they are incurring losses.
These cars are getting huge discounts
Dealers currently have 7 lakh 30 thousand vehicles standing with them, which is equivalent to 2 months of sales. However, the Indian Automobile Manufacturers Association (SIAM) estimates that this figure is about 4 lakh units of cars. In the last few months, most car companies have registered a decline in sales, which was 9.65 percent less than the month of July last year.
At this time, most of the automobile companies are giving huge discounts on their cars. Tata Motors is giving discounts of lakhs of rupees on its Safari, Harrier and Nexon. Apart from this, big discounts are being given on models like Hyundai Venue and Exeter. Apart from this, Jeep India is giving a discount of Rs 12 lakh on its Grand Cherokee model. The starting price of Jeep India has now become Rs 68 lakh 50 thousand. Earlier its price used to be Rs 80 lakh 50 thousand.
