Muhammad Prophet started the religion of Islam. He spent most of his life as a merchant. At the age of 40, he received the knowledge of Quran from Allah which became a major reason for the foundation of Islam. By 630 BC, Muhammad Prophet had unified most parts of Arabia by spreading Islam. Muhammad Prophet was religious by nature, he used to worship by visiting pilgrimage sites.

Muhammad Saheb had to face a lot of difficulties in his life. Since his father died before he was born, his grandfather and uncle raised him together. It is believed that Muslims were the descendants of Prophet Muhammad. They are present all over the world today.

Islam in India
Soon after the rise of Islam in Arabia, Islam made its way to the Indian community through the Arab coastal trade route of Gujarat. Islam had reached the inland areas of the Indian subcontinent by the 7th century. After which the Arabs conquered Sindh and later in the 12th century Mahmud of Ghazni came to North India via Punjab.

After this, many Muslim rulers and traders visited India continuously. After which the culture of Islam gradually made its place in India. However, the credit for laying the foundation of the Muslim empire in India is also given to Qutubuddin Aibak.

Most of the Muslims in India belong to South Asian ethnic groups. Muslims in India mainly came from Middle East and Central Asia. The highest caste among Muslims is Ashraf while the lowest caste is Ajlaf. It is said that the first mosque in India, Cheraman Juma Masjid, was built in 629 AD.
