Kathua, September 02 (HS). Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department District Kathua successfully organized a two-day training program on scientific beekeeping as well as training of Central Reserve Police Force personnel.
The programme aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices and empower CRPF personnel with valuable beekeeping skills. The training programme was inaugurated by Chief Agriculture Officer Sanjeev Rai Gupta, who stressed the importance of beekeeping as a sustainable agricultural practice that can significantly increase crop yields as well as provide supplementary income for farmers. Gupta highlighted the potential of beekeeping in contributing to the agricultural productivity and economic development of the region.
Commanding Officer Heinzang of Group Centre CRPF Kuta Hiranagar along with Assistant Commandant Ravi Gill were also present at the programme who expressed their gratitude for the well organised and informative programme organised by the Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare District Kathua. The training session was led by Pankaj Jasrotia Beekeeping Development Assistant who imparted practical training to the participants. Jasrotia covered a wide range of topics including biology of bees, hive management, disease control, honey extraction and marketing of bee products. The interactive sessions included practical demonstrations and discussions which allowed the trainees to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scientific aspects of beekeeping. The programme was chaired by District Agriculture Officer Murari Digra, Area Development Officer Ashok Sarmal and Subject Matter Expert-DL Kuldeep Basan. The two-day training programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants.
