Dehradun, September 02 (HS). Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam (UJVN) Limited has set a record of generating 724.465 million units (MU) of electricity in the month of August. Earlier, the highest power generation in the month of August was 721.990 MU of electricity generation in the year 2023.
Managing Director of UJVNL Limited, Dr. Sandeep Singhal informed that the projects of UJVNL Limited have generated 724.465 million units of electricity in August this year, which is the highest electricity generation in the month of August of any year since the establishment of the corporation. Earlier, the highest electricity generation in the month of August was 721.990 million units, which was done in August 2023.
Dr. Singhal informed that the 240 MW Chhibro Hydroelectric Project located on the Tons River on the border of Himachal Pradesh in Dehradun district generated 146.768 million units of electricity in August, which is the highest power generation of this project in the month of August since the establishment of the state. Earlier, the 143.279 million units of electricity generated in August 2021 was the highest power generation of this project so far in the month of August. He informed that the power generation of 65.589 million units in the month of August by the 120 MW Khodri Hydroelectric Project is the highest power generation so far since the establishment of the Corporation. Earlier, the highest power generation in August 2021 was 63.814 million units.
Dr. Sandeep Singhal further informed that the 86.787 million units of electricity generated by the 120 MW Vyasi Hydroelectric Project located on the Yamuna River in August 2024 is the highest electricity generation in any month since its inception. Along with this, the Kulhal, Tiloth, Cheela, Mohammadpur and Galogi projects of the corporation have performed well and generated more electricity than their August target.
Expressing happiness at the achievement of the power plants of the Corporation, the Managing Director said that this record production has been possible only due to better operation and maintenance of the machines of the power plants and excellent work of the personnel.
