The bullish trend continues in the stock market, Sensex-Nifty at the highest level ever, upper circuit in more than 300 stocks | News India

Stock Market Today: The Indian stock market started the week on a positive note. After opening at a new record high, the Sensex and Nifty are trading with gains. Today, the Sensex was trading at 304.85 points at 11.15 am after opening at an all-time high of 81725.28 with a gain of 359.51 points. The Nifty was also trading at 25314.70 after opening at a historic high of 25333.65.

Upper circuit in 317 stocks

On BSE today, 317 stocks hit upper circuit at the time of writing due to a stock-specific rally. While 253 stocks hit lower circuit. 296 stocks hit year's high and 21 stocks hit year's low. However, a 50-50 positive-negative trend was observed. Out of the total 4032 stocks traded, 1925 stocks advanced and 1934 stocks declined.

Selling in smallcap, telecom stocks

Today, amid the bullish environment, profit booking increased in smallcap and telecom stocks. The telecom index was trading 1.63 percent down at 11.19. While the small cap index fell 0.21 percent. Apart from this, PSU, auto, capital goods, metal, power, consumer durables stocks were trading in the red zone.

Reasons for the rise in the stock market

Sensex and Nifty have seen gains amid positive trends in global markets. On Friday, the Dow Jones closed at an all-time high. Apart from this, industrial production has increased. Also, there are positive signs for economic growth amid hopes of increased rural demand due to good rains. Apart from this, economists are pointing to the possibility that the RBI will start cutting interest rates in the next monetary policy meeting.
