Google recently started giving users the option to hide faces from appearing in the featured memories carousel in its photo app. This tool will also remove blocked faces from appearing in group photos. The company started this feature earlier this week. Let's know about it.
How does this feature work?
The company has informed that if you do not want to find a particular person in your featured memories, then you can show them as blocked or faceless.
If you choose to block someone, they will no longer appear in Memories. This includes group photos.
If you want someone to be less visible to you, you will not find any memories about him.
How to use the feature
First, open the Google Photos app.
Then tap your profile photo or initial in the top right and then tap Photo Settings.
Now tap on Select Face in Show Less or Blocked.
Now select the photo which you want to hide.
Now tap on Done.
How to hide photos from the Memories carousel
The company said that the new feature is working well, but it doesn't always work right. Therefore, Google Photos allows users to hide photos based on a particular date if they can't pick out faces. By turning this on, you can block photos from the Memories carousel to hide them based on date.
First, open the Google Photos app.
Now tap your profile photo or initial at the top and then tap Photo settings.
Next, tap Preferences, Memories, and then Hide Date.
Now add the dates you want to hide.
Finally, tap Hide.
