London: Lakshmi Balakrishnan, an Indian student at Oxford University in Britain, has accused the university administration of racial bias, harassment and injustice. Lakshmi, a resident of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, said that she has taken legal action after not getting justice through the appeal and complaint mechanism set up by the university. Lakshmi said that in 2018 she started research work for PhD on Shakespeare at Oxford University.
During an internal assessment in November 2021, the assessors failed them, arguing in the report that there was no scope for doctoral level study in Shakespeare. The university (Oxford University) has violated the agreement.
