Lt Gen Naveen Sachdeva reviews security situation in Doda and Kishtwar districts | News India

Jammu, August 31 (HS). Jammu-based Army's White Knight Corps General Officer Commanding (GOC) Lieutenant General Naveen Sachdeva on Saturday reviewed the security situation in Doda and Kishtwar districts of Chenab Valley. Where polling is going to be held along with the districts of South Kashmir in the first phase on September 18. He also took stock of the annual three-day Kailash Kund Yatra which started from Dudu-Basantgarh in Udhampur district. During this, strict vigil was maintained and aerial surveillance was also done.

In a post on social media platform X on Friday, the White Knight Corps said that Lieutenant General Sachdeva reviewed the security of operational preparedness in Suigarh and Patnaji sectors of Doda-Kishtwar with GoC Anti-Terrorist Force Delta. During this, Lieutenant General Sachdeva praised the soldiers for their perseverance and professional conduct displayed during the operation. The GoC also inquired about the Kailash Kund Yatra. He said that the security forces are keeping a strict vigil and aerial platforms are being used for surveillance.

It is noteworthy that polling is to be held on September 18 in the first phase in eight assembly constituencies spread across Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts in Chenab Valley region as well as 16 seats in Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts of South Kashmir. Meanwhile, the three-day Kailash Kund Yatra has started from Dudu-Basantgarh in Udhampur district from Friday. During this yatra, after a night's stay at Sej Dhar, the pilgrims proceeded towards Kailash Kund in Doda district on Saturday morning. In view of the recent terrorist attacks in the area, security forces have been deployed on the high-altitude route to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. In these attacks, a village defense guard and a CRPF inspector were martyred.
