Jaipur, 31 August (HS). The last rites of Mahant Raghavacharya, the Peethadheeshwar of Raiwasa Dham in Sikar district, were performed on Saturday. Mahant Raghavacharya's last rites were carried out on Saturday morning. The last rites started from Jankinath Bada Mandir and passed through different areas of Raiwasa village and reached the Gaushala of the temple premises. The last rites were performed here. Successor Rajendradas Maharaj lit the funeral pyre. Leaders, religious gurus and many Peethadheeshwars attended the last rites.
Peethadheeshwar had a heart attack in the bathroom on Friday morning. He was immediately taken to Sikar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. He was also the President of Rajasthan Sanskriti Academy. He also established Vedasharams in Rajasthan. Students who studied Vedas in Raiwasa Veda School are serving in many big institutions including the Indian Army. Dr. Swami Raghavacharya had written his will on 30 November 2015. This will was read out to the saints in the temple premises by Rajya Sabha MP Ghanshyam Tiwari in the presence of Raiwasa village sarpanch Ramdayal Saini. According to the will, Mahant has declared Rajendradas Devacharya Maluk Peethadheeshwar, Bansivat, Vrindavan Dham as his successor as Peethadheesh of Raiwasa Dham. UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, former MP Sumedhanand Saraswati, former MP Subhash Maharia, Danta Ramgarh MLA Virendra Singh, City Council Chairman Jeevan Khan, BJP District President Kamal Sikhwal, BJP leader Shravan Chaudhary were present at the funeral.
