Jammu and Kashmir elections: A big challenge has come up for BJP before the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. There is a ruckus in the party regarding the distribution of tickets for the elections, which is not taking the name of calming down. BJP workers are protesting against their own party. The protesting workers are demanding to change the list of candidates announced by BJP. Meanwhile, many senior BJP leaders are also resigning one after the other. Even before the elections, this terrible scandal has increased the concern of the BJP leadership in the state. BJP may suffer huge losses in the state due to the opposition of senior party leaders.
Dissatisfaction over ticket distribution
After resigning over ticket distribution in the party, state veteran leader Chandramohan Sharma said, 'There is huge discontent and anger among party leaders and workers over the wrong distribution of tickets. They are protesting to express their discontent. I am one of the most senior leaders of BJP and am saddened by the unfair distribution. Therefore, I am resigning from the party along with others.'
Earlier the list was cancelled due to protests
It is worth noting that BJP had first released a list of 44 candidates. However, due to strong opposition from the workers, the list was cancelled. A controversy arose when the names of senior party leaders were not included in the first list. Seeing the displeasure, BJP cancelled the list. In such a situation, the question is whether BJP will cancel the declared list of candidates again? The disgruntled workers of the party are constantly protesting against the party and criticizing the political leadership of the party. This internal rebellion is likely to cause a big setback to BJP in the state.
The alliance of National Conference and Congress was also challenged
The alliance between National Conference and Congress in Jammu and Kashmir can also become a big challenge for BJP as Congress plans to limit BJP to 20 seats in Jammu division. Opposition to BJP on local issues cannot be ruled out.
BJP will fight the elections on this issue
BJP will raise the issue in this election that the National Conference (NC) manifesto promises to change the name of Mount Harishankaracharya to Takht-e-Sulaiman. Along with this, the NC manifesto also talks about removing Article 370 through talks and mediation with Pakistan. Naturally, Hindus of Jammu region may have differences with Congress on these issues. BJP leaders are demanding Congress and Rahul Gandhi to clarify their stand on 370 and 35A.
This will be the first assembly election after the removal of Article 370
Elections for the 90 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1. The results are expected to be declared on October 4. This will be the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and division into union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
