New Delhi, March 04 (HS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Jagat Prakash Nadda resigned from the Rajya Sabha seat of Himachal Pradesh on Monday night. On February 20, Nadda was elected Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has accepted the resignation.
In fact, JP Nadda was elected unopposed as Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat 13 days ago on 20th February. His tenure was left for some time but as per the rules, if a member is elected from another seat, he has to resign from the old seat within 14 days, hence Nadda has resigned from the Himachal Pradesh seat.
