Datia, 04 March (HS). The weather in the district has been very bad for the last several days. Farmers' crops have been ruined due to rain and hailstorm. Due to this month of bad weather, every farmer seems to be broke due to the hard-earned money of the farmers. Collector Sandeep Makin reached the fields with the revenue team on Monday to inspect the crops of farmers that were damaged due to hailstorm and rain.
The Collector went to the spot and talked to the farmers and instructed the revenue team to conduct a survey. The Collector reached the fields in the villages along with the farmers and survey team to take stock of the damaged crops. Collector Makin went to the fields and assessed the actual situation. He assured the farmers of providing financial assistance after assessment. Also discussed with the villagers and understood their problems. However, during this period, the villagers were deeply troubled due to the news of the hard work done over the years.
Collector Makin today visited Gram Panchayat Hatlav, Ganeshkheda and took stock of the crop damage caused due to untimely rain and hailstorm. During this, the Collector also discussed with the farmer brothers and assured that the crop loss will be assessed through survey with complete transparency and sensitivity. Relief amount will be provided to the farmers as per the rules of the administration. The Collector has given instructions to form a joint team of officials from the Revenue Department, Agriculture Department and Panchayat Department to assess the crop loss.
The District Collector said that there should be no negligence in the survey of the entire matter. The survey will be conducted with complete honesty and sensitivity and every affected farmer will get relief. Special care should be taken that no farmer's field is left out of the survey.
In the villages falling under Nunwaha, Katili, Banwas, Nauner, Ganeshkheda, Hatlav, Khairi, Makauni, Rajapur, Khatola, Larayta development blocks of the district, the crops standing in the fields were completely destroyed due to hailstorm and water. A lot of damage has been caused due to large sized hail falling in the area. Due to this, now the farmers of these areas are very worried.
The district administration is reaching the fields to take stock of this situation. However, it is not possible to estimate the loss right now. Wheat, gram and pulses crops have suffered the most damage due to large-sized hailstorm falling within two days. On the instructions of the Collector, the revenue teams have reached the fields in various development blocks and started preparing the survey report of the damage caused due to this bad weather.
