Paris, 30 August (HS). India got its third medal in Paris Paralympics 2024 on Friday. India's young para athlete Preeti Pal won the bronze medal in the women's 100m (T35) race event. Earlier, star shooter Avani Lekhara won the gold medal for India in the R-2 women's 10m air rifle standing SH1 event and Mona Agarwal won the bronze medal.
23-year-old Preeti Pal, playing her first Paralympics, finished third in the final of the women's 100m (T35) race by finishing the 100m distance in 14.21 seconds. The first and second positions in the event were secured by Chinese runners. China's Zhou Jia completed the race in 13.58 seconds and won the gold medal. China's Guo Qianqian won the silver medal in this event by finishing the 100m race in 13.74 seconds.
