Lucknow, 04 March (HS). Departmental officers should do the work of providing benefits of schemes to backward classes and disabled people at the grassroots level. The state government has increased the budget in the schemes to provide benefits to more and more eligible backward classes and disabled people. Programs were regularly organized in the divisions and districts to showcase the talents of the disabled people. Employment and self-employment opportunities should be provided to the youth of backward classes by giving them computer training.
These instructions were given by the state's Minister of State for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Class Welfare (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap to the officials in the departmental review meeting on Monday.
Minister Narendra Kashyap, during the departmental review meeting in his office, directed the officials to work on how maximum eligible people can get the benefits under the schemes. Mandal and district level officials should take special care that backward class people and disabled people should be aware of the schemes of the state government and they should not face any kind of inconvenience in applying for the schemes and availing benefits.
He said that detailed information of all the schemes should be uploaded on the departmental website and social media platforms. The problems of the disabled people getting education in Dr. Shakuntala Mishra Rehabilitation University, Lucknow and Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Disability State University, Chitrakoot, should be resolved on priority.
State Commissioner Divyangjan Empowerment Ajit Kumar, Director Divyangjan Empowerment Bhupendra S. Chaudhary, Director Backward Class Welfare Dr. Vandana Verma and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
