Ludhiana News: Ludhiana's Halwara Airport will soon be operational. Air India has expressed its commitment to operate flights from Halwara Airport, which will cater to the travel needs of the entire Malwa region.

The meeting, held at the premises of the Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), was attended by Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora, Chamber President Upkar Singh, besides Manish Puri (Sales Head India), Kartikeya Bhatt (AVP Network Planning) and Air India team. Gaurav Khanna (Territory Manager), who assessed the market potential of Ludhiana.

Sanjeev Arora said that soon air connectivity will start from Halwara in Ludhiana. He claimed that he has made continuous efforts with various departments and is also in touch with airlines, out of which Air India has already committed to start flights and other airlines have also shown their interest.

DC Sakshi Sahni appreciated the collaborative efforts of all the stakeholders involved. She thanked the Indian Airports authorities for this important initiative and emphasized on better connectivity in the city. The event witnessed keen interest from the business community in booking air tickets, which is an indication of eagerness for this new development. She said that with the opening of Halwara Airport, Ludhiana's industries will reach new heights.

The industrialists assured Team Air India of doing profitable business in Ludhiana given the strategic location of Halwara airport. Team Air India confirmed that flight operations will commence in November after the merger with Vistara Airlines. It is set to boost economic growth, enhance connectivity and create new opportunities for the region.
