Gram flour barfi is a popular Indian sweet which is loved by people of all ages from children to old people. It can be prepared easily at home. Material:
Gram flour – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Desi ghee – 1 cup
Milk – 4 tbsp
Chopped dry fruits – 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder – 2 tbsp
Instruction:
-First of all, take a big bowl and sift gram flour in it.
-Add milk and 2 tablespoons desi ghee in gram flour and mix well until there are no lumps left.
-Mash the mixture until the lumps of gram flour completely disappear.
– Heat the remaining ghee in a separate pan on medium flame.
Once the ghee melts, add the gram flour mixture and fry on low flame until it turns light pink.
-When the color of gram flour changes, turn off the flame and let it cool.
-Meanwhile, mix half a cup of water and sugar in another saucepan. Heat it on the gas until the sugar dissolves and two strings of syrup are formed.
-When the syrup is ready, slowly pour it into the cold gram flour mixture and keep stirring continuously.
-Keep stirring until the mixture becomes thick and leaves the sides of the pan.
– Now add cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits and mix well.
– Grease a tray with a little ghee and spread the mixture evenly on it to smooth the surface.
-Let the mixture set for about an hour, then sprinkle chopped dry fruits on top.
– After it gets completely frozen, cut it into desired shapes.
