Dharamshala, August 29 (HS). Himachal Pradesh Central University Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal said that teachers should understand their importance and prepare the youth for nation building. He said that teachers now have to not only share subject information in the classrooms but also guide the youth. They have to play the role of personality development of the individual. The Vice Chancellor expressed this view on Thursday on the occasion of Faculty Development Program 2024 at Himachal Pradesh Central University.
The Vice Chancellor said that the teacher has been making an important contribution in the building of the society and will continue to do so in the future. Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal was present as the chief guest in this program organized at Dhauladhar Campus-1. At the same time, Prof. Dinesh Agarwal, Vice Chancellor, Gurugram University, Prof. J.P. Yadav, Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University, Haryana, Prof. Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Haryana, Prof. Shalini Singh, Director, Women's Studies, MDU Rohtak, Haryana, Prof. Sonia Bansal, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, Haryana were present as key speakers in the program. The program was conducted by program coordinator Prof. Sandeep Kulshreshtha. Assistant professors appointed in the year 2019 and thereafter from all three campuses of the university, Dharamshala, Shahpur and Dehra, participated in the Faculty Development Program 2024.
While presiding over the program, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal explained the importance of organizing the said program to everyone. He said that the university is organizing this program for assistant professors appointed in the year 2019 and thereafter. At present, more than 75 percent of the faculty members in the central university belong to different states. At the same time, 73 assistant professors are participating in this program, out of which 15 are female faculty members.
After this, the main speakers Prof. Dinesh Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor, Gurugram University, Prof. J.P. Yadav, Vice Chancellor, Mirpur University, Haryana, Prof. Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Haryana, Prof. Shalini Singh, Director, Women Studies, MDU Rohtak, Haryana praised this initiative of the Central University and said that under the guidance of Prof. Bansal, the university is touching new heights every day.
