Ranchi, March 4 (HS). A hearing was held in the Jharkhand High Court on Monday on a PIL filed by Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai to stop illegal mining in the forests of Saranda and to save the environment. The case was heard in the division bench of Justice Rangoon Mukhopadhyay and Justice Deepak Roshan.
During the hearing, the petitioner's advocate told the court that after the court's intervention, mining activity in the forests of Saranda had stopped but excessive iron ore had been left in the open, which was polluting the environment. The government is procrastinating in this matter. The government has been misleading the court for the last one year. Till now the mined iron ore is lying there, on which the court orally asked why the government is not taking this matter seriously? The court ordered the government to clarify the situation before the next date, either complete the process of selling the iron ore or identify a place (outside the forest area) where these iron ore can be dumped. Can go. Now the next hearing in this case will be on March 20. High Court advocate Diwakar Upadhyay presented the case on behalf of MLA Saryu Rai.
