The government said that the online portal for applying for passport will remain closed for the next five days due to technical maintenance. No new appointment can be scheduled during this period. Along with this, appointments already booked will be rescheduled.

A note issued on the passport seva portal said that the passport seva portal will be closed for technical maintenance from 8 pm on August 29 to 6 am on September 2. Due to which the system will not be available to citizens and all MEA/RPO/BOI/ISP/DoP/Police officials. Appointments already booked for August 30, 2024 will be rescheduled. Applicants will be informed about this in advance.
In this case, the Ministry of External Affairs said that this is a normal and regular process. We always have a plan to reschedule the appointment. The maintenance of the passport service center is always planned in advance, so that people do not face inconvenience. Therefore, there will be no problem in rescheduling the appointment.
