Shimla, 28 August (HS). The issue of giving jobs on compassionate grounds was raised during the Question Hour in the Monsoon Session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday. Member of the House Dr. Janak Raj raised this issue. On this, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that 1415 cases of jobs on this basis are pending in the state.
During the Question Hour, Dr. Janakaraj asked the government how many cases of jobs on compassionate grounds are pending in the state so far. He also wanted to know how many cases of jobs on this basis are pending in the state and how many candidates have been given jobs by the government. In response to this, the Chief Minister told the House that 1415 cases of jobs on compassionate grounds are pending in the state. These cases are pending in various government departments till 30 November 2023. Young sisters and women who have become widows will be given jobs on compassionate grounds within the next nine months. The process of giving jobs to eligible dependents of deceased employees during government service is going on as per the provisions of the government's policy of providing employment on compassionate grounds.
He said that the government is making every effort to provide employment to eligible dependents on compassionate grounds. For this, a four-member cabinet sub-committee has been formed. From January 1 to November 30, 2023, 180 candidates have been given jobs on compassionate grounds. Of these, 38 candidates are employed in class III and 142 in class IV. Out of the 1415 pending cases of jobs on compassionate grounds, 679 cases are of class III and 636 cases are of class IV.
