Mumbai: An education officer suspended by state Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar in the Badlapur schoolgirls sexual harassment case has filed an application in the Bombay High Court claiming he has been made a scapegoat.
Hearing on the petition of education officer Balasaheb Rakshe challenging his suspension. Before the bench of Justice Chandurkar and Justice Patil, the defendant initially approached the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal (MAT) but no relief was granted.
Rakshana's counsel argued that the suspension was given despite the fact that he was not involved in the regulation and supervision of preschool schools. He is responsible for the primary school and he acted promptly after receiving the necessary information.
The suspension order was issued on September 24. He was not informed about the decision directly and came to know through the media.
The Meteorological Department adjourned the hearing on the defence application for four weeks without granting interim relief. So he came to the High Court. His hearing may take place soon.
On 12th and 13th August, two girls aged three and four years were sexually assaulted. Their family filed a police complaint on 16th August, but the case was not registered for 12 hours. Hence, on 20th August, angry with the negligence of the police, a massive agitation took place and railways and roads were blocked.
