Guwahati, August 27 (HS). The Opposition Unity Forum (OUF) has demanded the Governor and the President to dismiss Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his communal and unconstitutional remarks and comparing himself to a mad dog. The Opposition Unity Forum will file a case against the Chief Minister at Dispur police station on August 28 for his communal remarks that provoked communal clashes inside and outside the Assembly. The Opposition Unity Forum will also demand an inquiry by a Supreme Court judge into the disproportionate assets of the Chief Minister and his family.
State Opposition Unity Forum and State Congress President Bhupen Kumar Bora announced this in a press conference today.
Earlier, the presidents and state secretaries of 18 political parties held a meeting. The opposition said that Dr. Sarma is a mad man and Assam is not safe in his hands. Himanta Biswa Sarma never wants the problems of Assam's ethnic groups to be resolved. This Chief Minister has made the future of Assam's new generation uncertain and is trying to create conflict between Hindus and Muslims. He has lost his way after the defeat of Badruddin Ajmal.
The Congress president said that the Chief Minister does not want the problems of the indigenous people of Assam to be resolved. The Chief Minister has failed to implement Article 6 of the Assam Accord.
In this meeting, besides the state Congress president, Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi, MP Rakibul Hussain, Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuiyan, Leader of Opposition Devvrat Saikia, CPM leader Suprakash Talukdar, Secretary of Opposition Unity Forum Lurin Jyoti Gogoi and other leaders were present.
