After CBI, now ED enters Kolkata rape case, investigation has begun | News India

On August 9, a junior doctor was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. The rape case of the 31-year-old doctor has triggered protests across the country. Demands for justice for junior doctors and safety of women have started rising not only in Kolkata but across the country. The Kolkata case was earlier in the hands of the police and the police have arrested an accused named Sanjay Roy in this case.

After the Kolkata Police handed over the case to the CBI, the CBI is unravelling every layer of the case and investigating every aspect of the case. However, a case of corruption has also come to light in RG Kar Hospital, the medical college financial misconduct case has now been handed over to the ED after the CBI. The ED will investigate the case.

ED will investigate corruption

ED has started investigation to investigate the financial matters of the hospital. Earlier, CBI had raided several places in Kolkata and surrounding districts to detect irregularities in financial matters. CBI reached the houses and offices of several former officials of RG Kar Medical College and conducted raids.

CBI raids Sandip Ghosh's house

On Sunday, the CBI also raided the house of RG Car's former principal Sandeep Ghosh. CBI officials have been investigating Sandeep Ghosh's house for about 13 hours. According to sources, they returned with many documents from there. Before leaving, the CBI officials also got Sandeep Ghosh to sign many documents, after which the case has now been handed over to the ED.

Polygraph tests, interrogations, raids

CBI has made many revelations in the Kolkata rape case so far. CBI is uncovering every layer of this case day by day. CBI also conducted a polygraph test of four members of the medical college by conducting an RG, which will help in solving the case. In which polygraph test was conducted of those 4 people who had met the junior doctor before the incident. This includes 2 first year PGT doctors (Araka and Soumitra), 1 house staff (Gulam) and 1 intern (Subhadeep).
