Mahadev Betting App Scam: The Chhattisgarh government has taken a big step regarding the Mahadev betting app. In which on Monday (26 August 2024), Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said, '70 cases related to the alleged Mahadev scam have been registered in several police stations of the state and one case has been registered in the EOW. We have decided to hand over all these cases to the CBI and a notification has also been issued in this regard.'

The Deputy Chief Minister further said, 'This issue is no longer a matter of one state but of many states. It is being told that some of the accused are also living abroad. Looking at the seriousness of the matter, now the CBI will investigate this matter. There will be no leniency in this matter and strict action will be taken. Action will also be taken to bring back those who are abroad.'
These big names are included in the FIR
The Deputy Chief Minister said that several senior state officials informed that the Chhattisgarh Home Department had issued a notification in this regard on August 22. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also been investigating the money laundering case related to the Mahadev app for more than a year. Also, after the BJP came to power in the state, the EOW registered an FIR in March based on a report submitted by the ED. Which names former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel, app promoters Ravi Uppal, Saurabh Chandrakar, Shubham Soni and Anil Kumar Agarwal and 14 others.
ED has arrested a total of 11 people in this case so far. A scam of about Rs 6,000 crore has been done through this app. In which the name of former CM Bhupesh Baghel also came to the fore.

Mahadev Betting App was an app made for online betting. Users used to play live games like poker, card games, chance games on it. Illegal betting was also done on sports like cricket, badminton, tennis, football and elections through the app. The network of the app spread rapidly through the illegal betting network and most accounts were opened in Chhattisgarh. This app prepared a precise blueprint of the fraud.
