The England team will play a three-match T20 series against Australia at home in September. After this, a series of five ODIs will be played. England has announced the team for both these series. The special thing is that England has included 5 new players in the T20 team. Three of these players have also been given a place in the ODI team. Batsman Jordan Cox, all-rounder Jacob Bethell, Dan Mousley, fast bowler Josh Hull and John Turner have been included in the team. These players may get a chance to debut in the T20 series against Australia.
Bethell and Turner have found a place in the ODI team
Josh Hull was recently included in the team in place of Mark Wood for the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka. He has been given a second chance. Along with this, Bethell and Turner have been given a place in the ODI team. Jofra Archer has returned to the ODI team for the first time since March 2023. Earlier he had made a comeback in T20. He was part of the England team for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Jos Buttler will be the captain
Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Matthew Potts and Jamie Smith have also got a place in the ODI team. This is part of the Test series against Sri Lanka. This series will be very important for England-Australia as it is seen as a preparation for next year's ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Jos Buttler has been given the captaincy of both T20 and ODI.
