A 5-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by some of his classmates in a madrassa in Delhi. Police have arrested two 11-year-olds and a 9-year-old boy for the murder.
Police say that these children committed the murder because they wanted to celebrate holidays. At first the principal of the madrasa told the police that the boy had died of skin disease, but later the police found out the whole incident with the help of CCTV.
The incident took place at a madrassa named Taleem-ul-Quran in the Dayalpur police station area of north-east Delhi. Police said the post-mortem report showed that the boy had suffered multiple internal injuries. These included a ruptured liver, bleeding inside the abdomen and a collapsed right lung. The boy's family had sent him to live at the madrassa about five months ago. According to news agency PTI, a police officer told them all this.
On August 23, at 6.30 pm, the boy's mother was told that her son was ill. She took him to a private hospital in Brijpuri, where the doctors declared him dead. After this, the mother took the body to the madrasa. Within no time, a huge crowd gathered. People started protesting. These people were demanding action by keeping the body on the ground.
Police reached the spot. The body was taken to GTB Hospital. The crowd calmed down only after the police assured them that the matter will be investigated, said Delhi Deputy Commissioner (North-East) Joy N. Turki.
According to Hindustan Times, the police said that the child's mother lives in Punjabi Bagh area and his father lives in Uttar Pradesh. The police have started investigating the case and have analyzed the CCTV footage of the madrasa. It has been learned that on the afternoon of August 23, three minor boys attacked the deceased boy. On August 24, all three were arrested and questioned. During interrogation, all three children said that they were angry with the victim because he had fought with them earlier too. Apart from this, it was told that these children want to go back to their home. They thought that after the death of a student, the principal would dismiss everyone. That is why they have committed this murder.
Police say that a case of murder has been registered. Police is also investigating the role of other people in the boy's death. Police investigation revealed that there are more than 250 boys in the madrasa. More than 150 of them are from Uttar Pradesh. After the incident, some parents have taken their children back home.
