Raipur, 26 August (HS). On Monday, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh released a documentary book titled Raipur written by Hari Thakur Memorial Institute at the Speaker's House. The book has been written by senior journalist and writer Ashish Thakur. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was also present on the occasion of the release. Historians, writers, theatre artists and journalists also participated in large numbers.
Congratulating the author of the book, Dr. Raman Singh said that Ashish Singh has done a great job on the history of Raipur city. Raipur has been a historical city since ancient times. Raipur was given many names in different periods. For example, sometimes it was called Kanchanpur, sometimes Kanakpur. This shows that the importance of Raipur has been like gold. Raipur has also been called Raipur. Ray means Goddess Lakshmi and pur means residence, that is, the place where Goddess Lakshmi resides.
Dr. Raman Singh said that Chhattisgarh has its own glorious history. We all have to work together to preserve it. We have to tell and show Raipur from the ancient times to the present. Raipur has many historical heritages and signs. During this time, Raman Singh shared stories related to the Kalchuri dynasty, the fort, Budha Talab, the Collectorate building and Babulal Talkies, as well as his college days in Raipur in the 70s.
During this time, Dr. Raman Singh also announced that we will make the Speaker House a center of literature and culture. If the state's litterateurs, writers, cultural workers want to organize any literary event or book release, they can organize the program in the Speaker House. During this time, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma also addressed the program. The program was presided over by litterateur Dr. Ramkumar Behar. In the release program, litterateurs Dr. Sushil Trivedi, Dr. Sudhir Sharma, Shakuntala Tarar, Jageshwar Prasad, theatre artist Arvind Mishra, Rakesh Tiwari, poet Mir Ali Mir, along with many other litterateurs, journalists, theatre artists and students were present.
