Now encephalitis epidemic in Assam, 424 cases and 32 deaths in two months | News India

Assam Japanese Encephalitis : Japanese encephalitis has created havoc in Assam. 424 cases have been reported here in the months of June and July, out of which 32 patients have died. Apart from this, 353 cases of malaria and 294 cases of dengue have been reported.

According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, 424 cases of Japanese encephalitis were reported in the state in June and July this year. 48 patients were found in June, while 376 people were confirmed in July. One patient died of encephalitis in June, while 28 patients died in July.

Dengue and malaria patients were also seen in large numbers

An increase in the number of malaria patients was also observed in Assam. 166 patients were diagnosed with malaria in June. Whereas 187 malaria patients were found in July. According to the data, three people died of malaria in June.

214 people got dengue in July

According to the information received in this regard, dengue cases are also increasing in the state. In June, 80 people were confirmed to have dengue, while in July, 214 people were affected by dengue. However, the relief news is that no one has died due to dengue in the state.

Many steps were taken by the health department to prevent the epidemic

According to official records, several measures are being taken by the health department to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases. The government is carrying out fogging across the state. Spraying and other measures are being taken to eliminate dengue larvae.
