Continuous rise in water level of Sardar Lake due to omnipresent rain, 15 gates of the dam opened 1.65 meters, watch video | News India

Narmada Rain: Gujarat has been receiving rains for the last three days, while the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in some parts of the state for the next 5 days. Due to which the deployment of omnipresent Meghraja was seen in Narmada district today. Due to the universal rain in Narmada district, the water level of Sardar Sarovar Dam is continuously increasing. Therefore, for safety reasons, 15 gates of Narmada Dam have been opened by 1.65 meters.

Actually, due to heavy rains in the upper areas of Narmada district, there is a continuous inflow of water in Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam. In the last 24 hours, the water level of the dam has increased by 27 cm.

Currently, the water level of Narmada Dam has reached 135.30 meters. While the maximum level of the dam is 138.68 meters. At the same time, 2,65,748 cusecs of water is being received from rain in the upper areas. Due to which 15 gates of Narmada Dam have been opened by 1.65 meters. 36,975 cusecs of water is being released into the river from the Riverbed Powerhouse and 23,081 cusecs of water is being released from the Canal Head Powerhouse.

If we look at the daily rainfall data in Narmada district, Dediapada has received 199 mm (7.8 inches), Sagbara 175 mm (6.8 inches), Nandod 152 mm (5.9 inches), Garudeshwar 79 mm (3.1 inches). Tilakwada has received 65 mm (2.5 inches) of rain.

Today, rain was recorded in 193 talukas of the state throughout the day. Out of which 76 talukas received more than 1 inch of rain, 40 talukas received more than 2 inches of rain and 26 talukas received more than 3 inches of rain. While Khergam in Navsari received 262 mm (10/10 inch) of rain throughout the day, Dediapada in Narmada received 8/10 inch of rain.
