Jabalpur, August 25 (HS). 38-year-old Ajit Pandey was shifted from Jabalpur to AIIMS Bhopal on Sunday by PM Shri Air Ambulance Service, which was started to provide treatment to the citizens of the state in high level medical institutions in emergency situations. Pandey, a resident of Rewa, is the third patient who has been sent to a high level medical institution from Jabalpur for treatment through this service started by the state government. Before this, on June 26 and July 7, one patient each in critical condition was sent from Jabalpur to AIIMS Bhopal for high level treatment by PM Shri Air Ambulance Service.
District Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Sanjay Mishra said that on August 11, Ajit Pandey was going somewhere on his scooty in Rewa. He had not closed his side stand. At a turn, the scooty overturned due to the side stand being open, due to which he suffered serious injuries and he fell unconscious and went into coma. He was admitted to the government hospital in Rewa, where when his condition did not improve, he was brought to Jabalpur and admitted to a private hospital here.
Dr Mishra said that when the condition became critical, Pandey was transferred to Bhopal AIIMS by PM Shri Air Ambulance Service on Sunday. He said that Pandey was an Ayushman card holder, so as per the instructions of the state government, air ambulance service was provided to him free of cost. Pandey was taken to Bhopal by air ambulance from New Delhi at around 3:30 pm, where he was admitted to AIIMS Bhopal. His wife Mamta Pandey has also gone to Bhopal with him by air ambulance.
According to Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Sanjay Mishra, his team members Dr. Vinita Uppal and Kumari Shreya Awasthi made continuous efforts to shift Pandey to AIIMS Bhopal by PM Shri Air Ambulance Service, due to which he was transferred on time.
