the new World: 'Jonga' jeep is the only off-road vehicle of the Indian Army which was built in the name of Jabalpur and due to its qualities it became the first choice of the army. The full name of Jonga is Jabalpur Ordnance and Gun Carriage Assembly. Out of the 41 ordnance factories in the country, Jabalpur is the only vehicle manufacturing factory to which Jonga jeep has gained a lot of popularity.
Jonga running on dirt roads
Running on difficult and rough roads, Jonga emerged as an important vehicle for the army. Keeping these qualities in mind, a modified version of Jonga is being prepared again after two decades. Its seating capacity and engine capacity are also being increased.

Three jeeps are being modified in the first phase at the vehicle manufacturing plant. A larger batch will be produced after its trial run. The automaker mass-produced the Jonga for the army from 1969 to 1999, but it was later replaced by the Gypsy.

Special attention has been given to the engine capacity, ground clearance, Jeep top and bearing technology. A new version of the Jonga is being developed to improve its design, performance and durability.
Use for military and paramilitary forces
VFJ has a team of skilled people to manufacture and maintain the Jonga and other vehicles. The same team is working on the technology to develop an indigenous model of the Japanese Isuzu that will be used in utility vehicles for the military and paramilitary forces.
