During the day, when we feel a little hungry, we feel like eating various types of spicy snacks. However, due to laziness and lack of time we often end up eating the same boring snacks every evening. If you are tired of eating the same type of breakfast every day, then you can easily make spicy and tangy Moth Chaat at home. It is not only tasty but also nutritious and it does not take much time to prepare.
How to make Moth Chaat:
Material:
1 cup moth dal
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
1 green chilli, finely chopped
1/2 inch ginger, finely chopped
1/2 tbsp coriander powder
1/2 tbsp cumin powder
1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
1/4 tbsp red chilli powder
1/4 tbsp garam masala
salt to taste
1/4 cup chopped coriander
1/4 cup curd
1/4 cup tamarind chutney
1/4 cup sev
Instruction:
Soak moth dal in water overnight. Next day drain the water and wash moth dal thoroughly.
Add moth dal, 2 cups water and salt in pressure cooker. Cook moth dal in a pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles. – Once the pressure is released, take out the moth dal in a bowl.
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds. When they start crackling, add chopped onion.
Fry the onion until it turns golden brown. Add ginger, green chilli, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
Mix the spices well. Add chopped tomatoes. – Cook the tomatoes until they become soft. – Then add boiled moth dal. mix well.
Add garam masala and salt. mix well. – Add chopped coriander, curd and tamarind chutney.
Mix everything well. Garnish with sev and serve hot.
