Car of pilgrims going on Manimahesh Yatra fell into a ditch, one person from Punjab died | News India

Dalhousie (Chamba) : Manimahesh Yatra The car of four people from Punjab travelling on Chamba-Pathankot NH 154A went out of control near Dobla bridge near Banikhet and fell into a ditch. One person died in this accident, while three people were injured.

Identification of individuals

The person killed in the accident was identified as Sandeep Kumar (40), son of Jaibeer Singh, resident of House No. 11393, New Subhash Nagar, Street No. 6, Basti Jodhewal, Ludhiana.

The injured included car driver Sandeep Kumar (40), son of Rajinder Kumar, resident of Ward No. 1, Mata Kali Nagar, Phillaur, Jalandhar and Karan (36), son of Prem Kumar, resident of Dr. Ambedkar Colony, Gara Road, Rahul Kumar (32), son of Prem Kumar, resident of Dr. Ambedkar Colony, Gara Road, Phillaur.

The pilgrims were going on the Manimahesh Yatra from Punjab

Three people from Phillaur in Punjab, along with their friend Sandeep Kumar from Ludhiana, were going on the Mani Mahesh Yatra on Saturday. The car lost control and overturned near Dobla bridge on the Chamba-Pathankot national highway at around 7 am on Saturday. After hitting the hill, the car flew about 30 feet in the air and overturned in the ravine. Sandeep Kumar died on the spot.

Local people reached the spot

After the accident, local people reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. All three injured were taken to Civil Hospital Dalhousie. After first aid, they were referred to Medical College Chamba. Banikhet police station also reached the spot and recorded statements. SHO Dalhousie Jagbir Singh has confirmed the case. He said that the cause of the accident is being investigated.
