Amritsar: Foreign Minister of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, S. Jaishankar and India's Ambassador to Qatar, Shri Vipul, have again asked the Sikh community to clarify the real situation by obtaining full information about the holy copies of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji kept by the police in Doha, Qatar.

Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that yesterday it was said through a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Mr. Randhir Jaiswal that one of the holy figures has been recovered by the Doha police, while action is being taken on the other. But the Shiromani Committee has received enough information that both the holy bodies are still with the Doha police. The Shiromani Committee President said that the Indian government should not make vague statements in this matter deeply related to Sikh sentiments, but should make serious efforts to bring back the holy image with respect. He said that the Shiromani Committee respects the Ministry of External Affairs for starting efforts on this, but it is also not right to create doubts within the Sikh community.

Advocate Dhami clearly stated that as per the information received, the police had taken three holy images from two parties in Doha, two of which are still with the police. He said that the government representatives are talking about returning the holy image which was found several months ago to the concerned Sikhs there. While the two other holy bodies are still with the Doha police, none of them have been returned. The Shiromani Committee President asked the Indian Foreign Minister to take full information of this case and present it before the Sangat with complete transparency. He said that it is the responsibility of the Foreign Ministry of the government to investigate this serious matter deeply and clarify the real situation to the Sikh world.
