Amritsar: Various Sikh organizations have requested Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to call a Panthic meeting before taking any decision in the proposed meeting of the Singh Sahibs of the Takht on August 30. In a memorandum given to the secretariat in-charge Sukhdev Singh in the absence of Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Akal Takht Sahib on Saturday, representatives of various organizations have said that before taking any decision regarding the dispute in the meeting of Singh Sahibs of the five Takhts on August 30, the Shiromani Akali Dal should call a Panthic meeting and take the advice of representatives of all Sikh communities and take the final decision.
Let us tell you that in the meeting of Singh Sahibs held on July 15, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal was asked to appear at Akal Takht Sahib within 15 days and give an explanation regarding not representing the Sikh community and the party properly. Badal gave his clarification on July 24. Earlier, the leaders of the rebel faction of Shiromani Akali Dal appeared before Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh on July 1 and apologized for the wrong decisions and major crimes committed during the previous Akali government led by Sukhbir Badal, in which Sirsa's Gurmeet apologized to Ram Rahim for not properly investigating the incidents of insult to Dera chief Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Singh has announced to take a decision in this regard in the proposed meeting on August 30. The representatives of the organizations have said in the demand letter that any final decision in this regard should be taken according to the Panch Pradhani norms. Baba Nagar Singh and Baba Navrang Singh of Nihang Sikh Jatha were also present on this occasion.
