Patiala : Sheller owners of Punjab have refused to store new crops in their godowns. Sheller owners say that instead of understanding their problems, the government is trying to impose its orders on them. In such a situation, more than five thousand sheller owners have announced to boycott the meeting organised by the government.

Sat Prakash Goyal, Senior Vice President of Rice Millers Association Punjab, said that the Punjab government is not serious about their demands and the government is ignoring their demands. Due to this, they will boycott the meeting to be held on 27th. Goyal said that the members associated with the association will not keep the new crop of paddy in their warehouses.

Sat Prakash Goyal said that although he has tried to negotiate with the Punjab government several times regarding his demands, but Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann did not listen to him, due to which many shell owners of Punjab are trapped in debt. At present, their number in Punjab is around 5500. Goyal said that for the last 5 years, the government has kept 20 to 25 lakh rupees of sheller owners in its possession, about which he has been continuously demanding his side in front of the government, but the concerned officials did not give it. Sheller owners are not ready to give money. He said that sheller owners have assets worth crores of rupees, on the basis of which they used to take a limit from the bank for money transactions, but a few days ago the government has also reduced their limit. They have to bear the brunt of it. They are facing a lot of difficulties in doing their business, they used to take a limit of 70 to 80 lakh rupees or 1 crore rupees from the bank according to their assets, but now this work has become even more difficult.
