LPG cylinder prices will change
The country's petroleum marketing companies review the prices of LPG cylinders every month. However, before 2014, along with petrol and diesel, prices were also reviewed every fortnight. Petroleum marketing companies make changes in LPG cylinders after reviewing the prices of LPG.
This includes changes in the prices of domestic and commercial LPG gas cylinders. In such a situation, changes are expected in the prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders on September 1. In early August, the price of commercial LPG cylinders was increased by Rs 8.50. However, its price was reduced by Rs 30 in July.
There will be a change in the rules related to fake calls
To crack down on the activities of cyber criminals who commit fraud through fake calls and SMS, telecom regulator TRAI will amend the telecom rules from September 1, 2024. TRAI has recently issued guidelines for telecom companies, explaining how these companies can curb fake calls and SMS.
In the guidelines sent to Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BSNL, TRAI has clarified that telemarketing calls and commercial messages originating from a range of 140 mobile numbers by September 30, 2024 will be allowed to be moved to the blockchain-based distributed ledger technology platform. This will put a stop to fake calls and SMS.
Changes in credit card rules
Apart from this, the rules related to credit cards will also change from September 1, 2024. Private sector HDFC Bank is planning to limit reward points on utility transactions. Under this, customers will be able to earn only 2000 points per month on utility transactions. Apart from this, HDFC Bank will not give rewards on any education related payments through third party apps.
Another private sector bank, IDFC First Bank, will reduce the minimum amount payable on credit cards. The payment date will also be reduced from 18 to 15 days. Not only this, RuPay credit card users on UPI and other payment platform apps will also get rewards similar to credit cards of other payment providers.
DA of government employees may increase
Government employees are going to benefit the most from September 1, 2024. The reason for this is that the central government can announce an increase in their dearness allowance (DA) in early September itself. It is expected that the dearness allowance of government employees may increase by about 3 percent. At present, the government has increased the dearness allowance of government employees by 50 percent.
Aadhaar card can be updated for free
The most important rule related to the common man is that from September 1, 2024, every person in the country who has an Aadhaar number can update his Aadhaar card for free. The Unique Identification Authority of India has fixed its last date as September 14, 2024.
This means that after September 14, no Aadhaar card holder will get the facility of free update. Earlier also, the Unique Identification Authority of India had given the facility of updating Aadhaar for free, the last date for which was fixed as June 14, 2024.
