Mirzapur, 24 August (HS). Now attendance at Anganwadi centers will be done through face recognition system. Only eligible beneficiaries will be able to benefit from this. Children's attendance will be taken through an app in the mobile of Anganwadi workers. At present, the Child Nutrition Department has started work for 260861 children registered at 2668 Anganwadi centers in the district.

District Program Officer Vani Verma told on Saturday that the government plans to provide nutritious food along with the attendance of children through face recognition system. This will increase the attendance of enrolled children. Also, only eligible beneficiaries will be able to get the full benefit of the schemes. 260861 children from zero to six years are registered in the Anganwadi centers of the district. Out of this, 10263 are partially and severely malnourished children and 46341 are in the partially malnourished category. There are also 2450 children in the SAM (severe medical condition of malnutrition) category and 10825 children in the MAM (medical condition of malnutrition) category. Arrangements for nutrition and proper treatment etc. will be made for these children. He told that for July to September, the beneficiaries will be distributed block and date wise from 24 August to 1 September. Dry ration is distributed to the beneficiaries of the Child Nutrition Department through self-help groups. They are also distributed gram dal, wheat porridge, fortified rice, edible oil.
