New Delhi, August 24 (HS). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is continuously attacking the alliance of National Conference (NC) and Congress in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The BJP accused the NC-Congress alliance of dividing the people of the state in the name of caste and religion. The BJP said that the Congress and NC alliance wants to end reservation in the state.
In a press conference held at BJP headquarters on Saturday, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said that by repealing Article 370 and Article 35A in Jammu and Kashmir, the Narendra Modi government has ushered in an era of peace and prosperity in the state. On the contrary, the alliance between Congress and NC is intent on depriving SC, ST and OBC communities of their due reservation. By promising to restore Article 370, the Congress Party-NC alliance is not only stopping the progress of Jammu and Kashmir but is also betraying Baba Saheb Ambedkar's vision for an inclusive and empowered India.
Reddy said that today in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference Party is talking about trade with Pakistan, but is this an issue of the state government or the central government? What kind of trade do these people want to do with Pakistan? Today, only the Congress and the National Conference Party together want to divide Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of caste and religion.
He said that Congress and National Conference should look at this election above caste and religion. They should talk about the interests of Jammu and Kashmir. Their manifesto and alliance which divides the country is again going to push that region back from the path of development. Today, after the removal of Article 370 and 35A, 890 central laws have been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to which the people there have got new momentum in development, prosperity, peace and trade at a fast pace. But Congress and National Conference want to destroy it in the name of religion.
