BJP candidates started election campaign

Kolkata, 03 March (HS). Some candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from West Bengal started their election campaign for the Lok Sabha elections on Sunday. Other opposition parties in the state have not yet released the list of their candidates. The BJP on Saturday released its first list of 195 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, announcing the names of candidates for 20 seats in the Trinamool Congress-ruled state with 42 constituencies. Of these, Singer Pawan Singh, the declared candidate from Asansol Lok Sabha seat, has announced not to contest the elections.

On the other hand, BJP candidate from Howrah constituency, Rathin Chakraborty, offered prayers at the Siddheshwari Kali temple in Howrah city in the morning before starting his campaign with party supporters.

Actor-turned-politician MLA Hiranmoy Chatterjee began campaigning in Ghatal constituency of West Medinipur district. He is a BJP MLA from Kharagpur Sadar constituency of the same district. After getting the ticket, he expressed his gratitude to the party leadership and started a public relations campaign since morning.
